This number is issued by KRA (KYC Registration Agencies) like CDSL, NSDL, DotEx, Cams Investor Services, Karvy
Like PAN Card Number, PEKRN number will be Unique.
Who is Exempted from PAN?
In order to get exempted from owning a PAN Card, then there should be any other valid Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID.
The listed are exempted from PAN Card
- A Resident of Sikkim State
- Any transactions done on behalf of a State Government
- Any kind of transactions done on behalf of Central Government
- Transactions done by Court appointed officials
- United Nations or Multilateral agencies who are exempted from paying Tax in India
- An Official Liquidator
- A Court Receiver
- Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) of Mutual Funds upto Rs 50,000 per annum
