As far as the limit of claiming of car insurance is concerned, you can do it as many times as you require. Just keep in mind that your claiming amount should not exceed the total amount for which your car is insured. However, in case of small damage as mentioned above it is always better to do the repairs from your own pocket, it helps you earn no-claim bonus.
Small accidents, scratches and dents are extremely common things that can happen to your car, if you are living in a city like Delhi. Even if it is not my fault, my car gets dents every now and then. But it would be stupid of me to claim the expenses and waste my time in the claim-process for such little things. It is hence important to know when and how many times to claim the car insurance. Great article!
A no-claim bonus is a good incentive, but then contributes to your worry of keeping a clean driving record. There is no point to paying out of your own pocket for small accidents, when you have insurance to pay for these things. But then again, you will be covered if anything larger happens. I just can’t see the point of paying insurance, and car repairs, just in case you have a very large accident. Maybe I am being naive.
To claim a car insurance as many times as against the amount insured. The insurance company is bound to pay if all the papers are submitted in the correct form. But then it increases the amount of premium one has to pay the following time when the policy is renewed.
